NBA #1 Draft Busts

Only three players selected with the first overall pick in the NBA draft failed to put up 10.0+ points per game in a season if they reached fifty games played: Anthony Bennett (2013), LaRue Martin (1972), and Mark Workman (1952). If we include the BAA, the NBA's predecessor, Andy Tonkovich (1948), is included ... sort of. He only played 17 games total in his career for a total of 44 points and 10 assists!

Additionally, Gene Melchiorre (1951) never played an NBA game, the only NBA #1 draft pick with that distinction. Nor did the very first draft pick of the BAA - Clifton McNeeley (1947).
